Owen M. Jeakle

Owen M. Jeakle, 75, of Punta Gorda, FL formerly of Grosse Pointe and New Baltimore, MI, fell asleep August 20, 2006 and is awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born July 10, 1931 on Harsens Island, MI. Owen “OJ” worked for nearly 20 years at St. John Oakland Hospital in many varied administrative capacities such as Corporate Director of Legal Services and Vice President, overseeing the areas of Risk Assessment, Hospital Relations and Quality. He served as counsel to peers, physicians and associates. Most knew him for his keen insight, legal prowess, wit and humor. His efforts over the years laid the foundation for patient safety and quality care. OJ loved boating, the camaraderie of fishing, gardening, a darn good joke, and was well recognized for his fine articulation of the English language. He had a great respect for the scriptures and reverenced God. He had a fondness for antique wooden boats, nature, jazz music and his wife’s good cooking. He is survived by his loving wife Arline, his seven children, Mark, Kirk and Jerry of Algonac, MI; Aileen of Port Charlotte, FL; Marschall of Stover, MO; and William and Amy of Matthews, NC, as well as his grandchildren: Kelly, Madison, Jordan, Casey, Will, Owen, Leigh, Hannah, Benjamin and Caitlyn.
