O. Lloyd "Woodie" Woodward

O. Lloyd "Woodie" Woodward, Jr., 85, of Punta Gorda passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. He was the son of Iva E. and Orville Woodward, Sr., born October 25, 1927 in Lyman Township, IL. Woodie was a United States Air Force veteran and a retired farmer. He moved from Piper City, IL to this area in 2002. Woodie was the former President of Piper City Schools, Ford County Farm Bureau and National Spotted Poland China Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1949, Punta Gorda Elks, Punta Gorda Moose, American Legion and a member of Piper City Methodist Church. Woodie will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 1/2 years, Carol Tambling Woodward; daughter, Connie Jo (Steve) Arnold of Fisher, IL; sons, Brian (Beverly) Woodward of Roanoke, IL and Douglas (Jessica) Woodward of Delafield, WI and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael and granddaughter, Kirsten. A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Cleveland United Methodist Church with Rev.
