Norma L. Stroud

August 19, 1929 — January 22, 2022

Norma Lee Stroud (age 92) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 22, 2022. Norma was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1947. During her career, she worked at several schools in Colorado Springs, including the University of Colorado, the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind, and the Nazarene Bible College.

Norma lived in Colorado Springs for 86 years, and she treasured the beautiful mountain views of her hometown. Norma’s greatest love was her family, and in 2016, she moved to Punta Gorda, Florida to be near two of her three children.

Norma was a woman of strong faith. She played the organ and enjoyed playing and listening to gospel music. She attended the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Colorado Springs and the 1st United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda. She loved participating in Bible Study groups, and she touched many lives through her ministry of making hand-knitted prayer cloths.

Norma was immensely proud of her family, and she loved family gatherings. She enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, and other games – and, of course, she always enjoyed winning! She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold and Florence Jordan, and her brother, Kenneth (Gene) Jordan. She is survived by one brother, Keith Jordan, of Prince George, Canada. She is also survived by her three children: Kenneth Stroud (Chris) of Marco Island, Florida; Carla Clark (Mike) of Punta Gorda Isles, Florida; and Sherry Palmer (Mike) of Jefferson, Iowa; as well as six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one niece, and three nephews.

A celebration of Life will be held at 1st United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda on February 1, 2022, in the Lenox Hall at 1:00 p.m.
