Norma L. Smoak-Prather

Norma L. Smoak Prather, 83, of Punta Gorda went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2014. She was the daughter of Everett and Lila Lott, born August 23, 1930 in Miami, Florida. Norma was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and served the Lord with all her heart and demonstrated her love of the Lord through all the devoted work at her church including past Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and singing in the choir. She was a member of Friendship Presbyterian in Hialeah, FL, Calvary Church in Hialeah, FL, Sparr Baptist Church in Ocala, FL and Berean Baptist Church in Port Charlotte. Norma will be greatly missed by her husband of 3 1/2 years, Jim Prather; children, Larry (Lolita) Smoak, Teri (O.B.) Caudle, Glen (Pat) Smoak and Jon Prather; sisters, AnnaBelle (Morgan) Marklin, Linda Smoak and Pat (Wes) Anthony; grandchildren, Glen (Christi) Smoak, Jeannine (Clay) Orr, Danielle (Charlie) Rose, Christopher (Joy) Smoak, Allen (Nakitia) Smoak, Brandon Smoak, Brittany Smoak; great-grandchildren, Greg Smoak, Elizabeth Smoak, Blake Orr, Zoie Rae Orr, Hayden Smoak, Lana Smoak, Harper and Raleigh Rose, Callie Joy Smoak. step-grandchildren, O.B. (Kristy) Caudle, Chad (Jody) Caudle. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband of 56 years, Neil Fulton Smoak; sister Bernice Lott Sliker; brothers Glen David Lott, Donald Lott, Lawrence Lott, Richard Lott, and Leonard Lott. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Berean Baptist Church, Port Charlotte, Florida with Pastor Fred Cowardin officiating.
