Neil Jordan Douglass

Neil Jordan Douglass, 86, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Sept. 23, 2017 at Tidewell Hospice with his loving wife of 66 years Phyllis by his side. He was born May 25, 1931 to Linus and Arline Douglass in East Smethport, PA. Neil graduated from Smethport High School and attended Houghton College. In high school he led his football team to a state championship. Neil was a member of his school's award winning state chorus. In Waverly, NY and Sayre, PA Neil was the entrepreneur of a bakery, donut shop, ice cream parlor and laundromat. Neil and Phyllis spent their retirement years in Florida. He loved boats and was an avid sailor. As a faithful Christian with a resounding bass singing voice, he sang solos and in church choirs. Neil will be greatly missed by his wife, Phyllis; brother, Lynn (Lois); daughters, Judith (Joseph) Dellinger of MD, Lynette ((David) Cheo of MD, Neila Jo (John) Turner of PA; grandchildren, Chad, Christy and Matthew Douglass, Gretchen Dellinger, Savannah and Silas Cheo, Skyler and Craig Seilhamer; great-grandchildren, Trey, Skyler and Jordan Seilhamer. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Craig and grandson, Douglas Dellinger. A memorial service will be held at 11am on October 14, 2017 at Peace River Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Peace River Baptist Church music department or Tidewell Hospice, Inc.
