Nancy P. Hoar

Nancy P. Hoar, 81, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away peacefully on January 26, 2015 with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Patrick and Philomena (McGlynn) Murphy, born May 12, 1933 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Nancy and her husband raised their 3 children in Pompton Lakes and Pompton Plains, N.J. She was the Director of Admissions at nursing home facilities and retired in 1989. She was past Vice President of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, past member of Burnt Store Isles Boat Club and Burnt Store Isles Association. Nancy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Nancy will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Patrick J. Hoar; daughters, Patricia A. Hodges and Kathleen Hoar; son, Patrick (Janice) James; sisters, Sr. Patricia Murphy and Maryann Murphy; brother, Patrick (Angela) Murphy; grandchildren, Jill, Jennifer, Sean and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Emily, Conleigh and Bradlynn; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Theresa and grandson, Matthew. The family will receive friends for a celebration of Nancy's life at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda, FL with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery.
