Nancy A. Anderson

December 1, 1935 — March 30, 2013

Nancy A. Anderson of Punta Gorda Isles lived a very full life till the age of 77. She passed away on March 30, 2013 at Peace River Heart Institute. She was born December 1, 1935 to James and Madelyn (Long) Evans and grew up with her two sisters Norma Russotto now of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Nell Susalla now of Grosse Pointe and Mackinaw, MI. Nancy married Gene in 1959 and they had two children James now of Windsor Locks, Connecticut and Terry. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet College Michigan. Nancy's career was being the art teacher for Windsor Locks school system for 23 years. Her husband Gene worked for the Bendix Corporation that helped her travel and visit the world. Nancy earned a Masters Degree of Fine Arts from Central Connecticut State University. In retirement she was a volunteer and member at the Charlotte Visual Arts Center and enjoyed awards such as 1st place in the Harvest of Art Juried Exhibit. Nancy was part of The Sea Grape Gallery and became their President in 1998. She was Art Director of the Punta Gorda Historical Mural Society and had her art displayed at many local banks. She helped with the community Artrain and she designed a cover called "Let's Go!" for the Sun Herald and was the first artist on the Charlotte Community Pages on their internet web shown for many years to all across the world. At the Charlotte County Justice Center Courts she was selected for their permanent display. Donations can be made toward the Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda, 210 Maud Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950
