Morton J. Howard, 83, of Punta Gorda passed away on August 29, 2006 peacefully, surrounded by the love of family and friend. He was born October 8, 1922 in Manhattan, New York to Jerome and Anita (Offner) Howard. Morton served as a Navy pilot during WWII. He spent most of his life in Huntington, NY until he retired from an accomplished career in engineering design and sales then moved to Punta Gorda. Morton was an expert model airplane designer, bridge player and spent many happy hours sailing his boat with his family. Morton will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorraine; son Jonathan and his loving companion Eileen Johnson; daughter Donna (Robert) Zupkus; brother Robert (Claire) Howard. He was preceded in death by his son Richard. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
