Miles L. Chvila

Miles L. Chvila, 74, of Port Charlotte passed away May 12, 2011. He was the son of Miles B. and Mildred (Voldrich) Chvila, born May 31, 1936 in Berwyn, IL. Miles served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was an industrial engineer at Standex International for many years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping. Miles lived in La Grange, IL from 1936-1967; he came to this area in 2001 from New Hampshire. Miles will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Diane; daughter, Lynda (Booth) Harned of Peculiar, MO; son, Miles (Carol) Chvila of NorthPort; father, Miles B. Chvila of Chicago, IL; and grandchildren, Leighanne and Curtis. No services are planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, 4519 Drance St, Port Charlotte, FL 33980.
