John Michael "Mike" Kristich, 70, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. He was the son of John and Catherine Kristich, born September 27, 1943 in Detroit, MI. Mike moved from Royal Oak, MI to Port Charlotte in 1961. Mike and his wife, Grace, owned and operated Sign Zone Company from 1984 until Grace's death in 2008. He worked for Rolls Landing, Port Charlotte. Mike was a fun loving guy who made friends with people from all walks of life. He carried his little dog, Spyke, everywhere he went, and was known to dress Spyke in costumes representing the current holiday. Mike will be greatly missed by his son, Kraig (Sabrina) of Winter Park, FL,; step-son, Ben (Lisa) Chapin of Port Charlotte; sons from previous marriage, Kevin, Kirk and Keith; sisters, Patricia (Doyle) Carter of Highland, MI; Sharon Pressley of Punta Gorda, Gail (John) Pratt of Opelika, AL and Nancy (Tim) Sain of Gainesville, FL; brother, Robert (Patricia) Kristich of Bakersville, NC; grandchild, Kieran; step-grandchildren, Olivia and Tyler and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate, Grace; parents; brother-in-law, Ron Pressley. A memorial will held at later date for Mike's cremated remains to join Grace's in the Peace River.
