Michelle F. (Mosley) Jones

June 14, 1972 — June 5, 2022

Michelle F. (Mosley) Jones, 49, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on June 5, 2022, after a brave battle with cancer, she was taken away far too soon. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Florida with her family when she was 6 years old. She began to build her own family at the age of 14. Not many people are strong enough to do that, but she was. She raised her 4 children throughout Lee, DeSoto, and Charlotte County.

Michelle created and successfully ran a cleaning business for many years in Punta Gorda, FL, but cleaning wasn’t her passion. With a great love for animals, she began her career in Veterinary medicine at Charlotte Animal Hospital in February 2005. During her 15 years at the animal hospital, she progressed her career by becoming a Veterinary Technical Nutritional Counselor and a licensed Veterinary Technician. She graduated from San Juan College in 2012, excelling in advanced technical communications. She was so kind, caring, and compassionate with the animals and their owners. As her cancer progressed, she had to take another career path that would allow her to work from home and at her own schedule. In August 2020, she carried her compassion over to people, when becoming a licensed insurance agent. Michelle went above and beyond for each and every one of her clients, ensuring they receive the best information and care for their futures. No matter where she was, she would always spread cheer with her smile, giggles, and upbeat personality. Her positive attitude was infectious. Michelle was also a published author. All throughout her life, she was inspired to write. It was one of her greatest passions. She mostly enjoyed writing poetry and children’s books. A couple of books she wrote in her earlier year were “Cookies, Pies & Little White Lies” and “She Gives a Daisy Daily”. Her children adored her reading these stories to them. She wrote so many other pieces over the years until finally taking that next step into publishing. Such a proud moment for her! Michelle published a poetry book “From Fornever to Forever” and a children’s book “If I Were A Cloud”. She was so talented and excelled in everything she put her mind to, while also putting everyone else in her life first. Truly, an incredible woman.

Michelle was deeply involved in her children’s schooling and extra curriculums. She was the best Team Mom for the Riverdale Wildcats and the Charlotte Warriors. She was the most devoted Girl Scout Leader of Troop 186 and dedicated Vice President of the Bulldog Battalion Army JROTC.

Most things Michelle enjoyed doing were things with her husband and family. Jeepin’ with the top down and jamming out to her music, baking goodies with her cuties, beating everyone at scrabble, she always made it a fun time. Whether at home doing puzzles and painting or out for the night playing pool and singing karaoke, she made every moment so special. She loved being outdoors and seeing animals. Most summers were spent with her family visiting parks, zoos, camping, and taking every opportunity to feed giraffes. Even though she made so much time for her loved ones, she still found time to enjoy one of her greatest passions, writing. However, out of all her hobbies, Michelle enjoyed spoiling her grandkids the most!

Michelle will be deeply missed by her husband JR Jones; mother Joanna Crain of North Fort Myers, FL; mother-in-law Shelby Jones of Punta Gorda, FL; brother Lawrence Mosley of North Fort Myers; children Tanya (James) Ryals of Dover, FL; James Cox of Brooksville, FL; Amanda Cox of Lynnwood, WA; Pamela Johnson of Port Charlotte, FL; Theresa Jones of Tampa, FL; Josh Jones of Port Charlotte, FL; Thomas Abling (Samantha) of Port Charlotte, FL; fur-baby an adorable Chiweenie, Dapple Dan; grandchildren Trinity, Patience, Larissa, Julia, Audria, Casey Jr., Dakota, Ayiana, James, Joshua, Nevaeh, Bryahnna, Jaxson. May she give those sweet hugs and kisses to her grandbaby Ariel in heaven, just as she promised.

A Memorial Service will be at 5 pm on June 25th at Johnson-Taylor Funeral of Punta Gorda for family and dearest friends.
