Michael Gentile

Michael "Mike" Gentile, 84, of Port Charlotte, FL left us on April 6, 2013. He was born August 10, 1928 on Broome Street in New York City to Salvatore and Concetta Gentile. Mike retired after 35 years of service in the Court System of the City and State of New York. As Vice President of District Council 37 and President of Local 1070, he was a dedicated and skillful leader in the fight to create a better working environment for all New York City employees. The earlier years of his retirement were spent in Schroon Lake, New York and Flushing, New York until settling in Port Charlotte with his wife Louise. He was a member of Sons of Italy Lodge 2507, Post Polio Support Group of Charlotte County, New York City Retirees of Florida and San Antonio Catholic Church. Mike will be greatly missed by his wife, Louise; daughters, Theresa, Elizabeth and Louise; grandchildren, Anthony, Brian, Daniela, Priscilla and Nicholas; siblings, Riggie, Josephine, Mary and Sam.
