Maxine Coward

Maxine Wingo Coward, 73, of Punta Gorda passed away August 31, 2008. She was born October 17, 1934 in Henderson County, North Carolina to Leonard and Bertha (Holden) Wingo. Maxine moved from Asheville, NC to Punta Gorda in 1967. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife who enjoyed taking care of her family and traveling. Maxine will be greatly missed by her husband of 55 years, Bob; daughter, Karen (Wyatt) Glisson of Punta Gorda; sons, Butch (Dottie) Coward, Matthew (Sarah) Coward and Tony (Sandee) Coward all of Punta Gorda; sisters, Jane Craft of Gulf Shores, AL, Nova Johnson of Fayetteville, NC and Joyce Ward of Horse Shoe, NC and 10 grandchildren. A celebration of Maxine's life will be at 4:00 pm, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church with Pastor Valerie Bell officiating.
