Matthew Coward

Matthew George Coward, 65, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on June 22nd, 2024 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on January 3rd, 1959 in Hendersonville, NC.

He is survived by wife Sarah Coward; children Katherine Coward Allison, Declan Allison, Melinda Gaia Coward, Jennifer Jewel Gaia, and Daniel Coward; brothers Anthony Coward, Leonard Coward and Wyatt Glisson; and his grandchild, Brady Simpson.

Matthew's heavenly journey began as he was received into the loving arms of his parents Bob and Maxine Coward, and sister Karen Glisson.

Known for being generous, patient, honest and kind-hearted above all else, his love for family was expressed in many ways; taking his family out for a nice medium-rare New York strip and a baked potato with all the fixings, countless family trips to Florida theme parks, a drive around town to look at Christmas lights, and bringing his wife a cup of coffee in bed every day for 41 years.

Services to honor Matthew's life are yet to be determined but will provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together to celebrate the beautiful life that he lived.

Rest peacefully Matt, we will miss you every single day.
