Mary Regina Plummer

Mary Regina ”Jean” Plummer, 84, of Port Charlotte formerly of Fairmont, WV passed away January 21, 2006. She was born June 21, 1921 in Portsmouth, NH to Henry and Mary Ellen (Hartnett) Garfield. Jean was raised in Albany, NY and became a registered nurse. She enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 where she met the love of her life John and eleven days later they decided to get married. Jean and John settled in Fairmont, WV to raise five children and then in 2001 moved to Port Charlotte to live with son Stephen. She was devoted to her husband, family and her Catholic faith. Anyone that knew John and Jean will take comfort in knowing that they are now reunited. She will be greatly missed by her sons John of Modesto, CA, Stephen (Lyn) of Port Charlotte, Mark (Leah) of Arlington, TX and Chris of Sunrise, FL; daughter Gina Vincent of Fairmont, WV; eight grandchildren; sister Peggy Smith of Albany, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband John in 2004. A memorial service in celebration of Jean’s life will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 17 at San Antonio Catholic Church.
