Mary Jo Gomez

Mary Jo Gomez, 80, a native of Florida passed away July 10, 2017. She was born on April 25, 1937 and the daughter of Cecil and Jessie Albritton. Mary Jo was a member of First Baptist Church of Tee and Green, East Punta Gorda (Solona, FL). She was a hardworking woman; who worked beside her husband in their excavation business, worked in a plant nursery, in an orange grove and her last job was at Robert's Florist, Punta Gorda. She was an avid reader, loved gardening, going fishing, hunting and camping. Mary Jo loved spending time with family, friends and grandchildren at family gatherings. Mary Jo will be greatly missed by her son, Grant (Freda) Gomez; brother, Peter (Kathy) Albritton; grandchildren, Monica, Melissa, Jacob, Jaime, Miranda, Melanie and great-grandson, Connor. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; daughter, Christie Gamber, brother, Don Albritton and sister, Doris Smith. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30am, Saturday, July 15, 2017 with a service to celebrate Mary Jo's life beginning at 10:30am at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation. Burial will be at Indian Springs Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Frank.
