Mary "Janet" Define

Mary Janet Define, 83, of Port Charlotte, FL formerly of Mattoon, IL passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday September 20, 2018. She was born January 20, 1935 in Bristol, VA to Bevins Bud and Mary Estelle Terry. Janet moved to the area with her husband John Alan Define in 2001 and they were both members of the San Antonio Catholic church. Janet was a devoted wife and mother as she dedicated most of her adult life to her husband Alan until his death in 2011. She liked to dabble in sewing and handicrafts, loved the St. Louis Cardinals and could be found chatting with cashiers at the stores she loved to frequent. She was very proud of her daughters and would often tell people I have the best girls! Janet will be greatly missed by her daughters; Kathy (Jeff) Yount, Connie (John) Graham, Barbara (Mike) St. Louis and Diana (Jeff) Wuller; brother, Doug Terry; and sister Sandy Terry; as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years John Alan Define and granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Yount. Her family will receive friends on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 3:00-4:00 pm at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with the service in celebration of Janets life to follow at 4:00 pm.
