Mary Jane Daly Ferry, 62, of Punta Gorda, formerly of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully Friday, June 18, 2010 at The Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born on July 6, 1947 in Atlanta, GA to Bill and Majella Daly. Mary Jane moved to Punta Gorda in 2001 and was active in the local boating community and was a member of the Punta Gorda Isles Yacht Club, the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association, the Seafarers and the Elks Club. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing Mah Jongg and bridge with friends and she always enjoyed a good raft-up or cruise. She cruised in Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, and recently returned from an extended cruise to Alabama and the Panhandle showing her friends where she used to live and cruise. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 42 years, Joe; sisters, Joy Russ and Billie Clark; son Joseph Junior; daughter, Christine; grandchildren, Alan, Asa, Rebecca and Sarah; mother in-law, Sarah Ferry, brother and sister in-law Gene and Stephanie Ferry along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Lois. A memorial service to celebrate Mary Jane's life was held on Sunday, June 20, 2010 with her family, firneds and members of the Isles Yacht Club and Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association were in attendance.
