Mary C Brunkhorst

Mary Carolyn Brunkhorst of Punta Gorda FL, formerly of Warrior, AL and Des Plaines, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, after a brave battle with cancer. Carolyn and her husband, William, owned and operated two successful businesses in Punta Gorda, Rio Villa Bait & Tackle and Accent Curb of Florida. She also worked as a bookkeeper for many years in IL and FL. Carolyn is survived by her children, Paula (Bob) Dettmann, Renee (Bruce) Webber, Ryan (Catie) Engels and Dawn (PJ) Godwin, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and a brother, Paul (Wilma). Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving husband, William, and her parents, Thomas and Mary Johnson. Carolyn will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. She will be laid to rest beside William at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Tidewell Hospice of Charlotte County, FL.
