Mary Ann Sanderson, 80, of Port Charlotte passed away April 17, 2011. She was born July 10, 1930 in Tampa, FL to Leonard and Jennie (Guerard) Davis. Mary Ann was a native Floridian who grew up and went to school in Boca Grande, FL. She worked for Eastern Airlines before spending 30 years as a broker salesman with O'Connor Realty in Port Charlotte. She then owned and operated The Hoorah's Nest for ten years. In the mid 1980's, she served for 6 years on the Charlotte County Planning and Zoning Board. Mary Ann was a former member of Charlotte County Board of Realtors, DAR, and Hugenot Society of South Carolina. She enjoyed spending time with her family at their vacation home in the mountains of Highlands, NC, and learned to make stained glass windows as a hobby after retiring in 2001. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 55 years, Robert; daughter, Pamela (Chet) Kolber of Punta Gorda; sister, Ethel J. Lane of Englewood; nieces, Tracy Wallace of Orlando, Tammy Lane of Port Charlotte and Natalie Lane of Englewood. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Boca Grande.
