Marion Mckinney

July 2, 1935 — October 24, 2021

Marion (Kenney) McKinney, originally from Millis, MA, died peacefully on October 24, 2021, in Port Charlotte, FL.  She was the daughter of Frederick E. and M. Gertrude (McDonald) Kenney.

Born July 2, 1935, Marion was raised in Millis where she graduated from high school. She was a graduate of Regis College, Weston, class of 1957, earning an AB in Chemistry. She spent her entire career as a chemist at the Army Research Laboratory, Natick. She was a woman ahead of her time in her scientific studies and professional career.

Marion was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother, Frederick J. Kenney, and her husband, Daniel McKinney.

Marion was the beloved aunt of Frederick Kenney Jr. of London, UK, Diana Kenney Annis of Marstons Mills, Lisa Kenney Morrissey of Walpole, and Susan Kenney Naughton of Holliston. She was the sister-in-law of Joan Kenney of Hyannis Port. She is survived by cousins Robert Conlin of Milton, Margaret Flagg of West Roxbury, David Morrissey of Pembroke, James Morrissey of Hingham, Katharine O'Sullivan of Scituate, and Robert Riley of Sebastian, FL.

Marion loved sailing, cooking, figure skating, Mustang convertibles, and her family. She was much loved and will be missed.

Marion’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers who provided support, companionship and care to Marion in her final years.
