Marilyn Joyce (Moore) Lowry, 71, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Christmas Sunday, December 25, 2011. She was born October 17, 1940 in Lexington, Kentucky, the only child of Joel E. and Sudie T. Moore. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart, Denis E. Lowry, in 1959. During their 52 years of marriage, she traveled extensively with her husband. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother and caring friend. She and her husband moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1996. She was at one time the Social Director of the Mariners of PGI boating club and the Clubs Director of the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association. She was also a member of the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed by her mother, Sudie Moore of Port Charlotte, FL; husband, Denis; children, Hunter Lowry Dyer of Suwanee, GA and Kenton Elliott Lowry of Columbia, SC.; grandchildren, Sydney Pipkin, Damian Cornelison and Sterling Cornelison. A 'Celebration of Life' service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, 11330 Burnt Store Road, Punta Gorda. In lieu of cards or flowers, memorial donations be made to Marilyn's favorite charity, the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation, 12151 Avenue of the Chiefs, Crazy Horse, South Dakota, 57730-8900.
