Marilyn Carlson

With broken hearts we share the passing of our beloved, friend, wife, mother and grandmother, Marilyn Ann Carlson. She left this world on February 15th 2025 but her spirit lives on and her memory will continue to brighten the day for all who knew her.

Marilyn was born in North Easton MA on January 9th 1937, graduated from Oliver Ames high school in 1954 and continued her education at Upsala College in East Orange NJ, graduating with a BA in Psychology. Settling in Westwood and Norwood, in the suburbs of Boston, until a job transfer would lead the family to the southern United States.

She moved with her family to Kingsport TN in 1975 and after initial uncertainty, fell in love with the mountains of East TN. She raised a family, created a network of close friends and was active with her church and community throughout her life. After retirement she moved with her husband Neil to Lake Suzy FL. They were both avid golfers and spent 20 years enjoying the warm weather and sunshine in FL. She loved her family, her friends and her faith in God. She was married to her husband Neil for 66 years.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Joy Ellen Lindahl. She is survived by her husband Neil Carlson, her brother Norman Cronin, her son, Eric Carlson, and three grandchildren Emma Carlson, Carl Lindahl and Annika Lindahl.

She was loved by all and will be dearly missed every day.

Please join her family and friends at 3:00 on April 5th, 2025 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2565 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952, to celebrate her life and the light she brought to the world. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Lake Suzy Golf Villas clubhouse.
