Louis Calderon, 93, of Punta Gorda passed away July 19, 2014. He was the son of Morris P. and Mary (Alboher) Calderon, born October 27, 1920 in New York, NY. He served in the US Army. Louis was a clothing designer and pattern maker, owning his own business for 40 years. He moved to Punta Gorda from New Jersey in 2004, and worked in the guard house at Seminole Lakes for 10 years. Louis was a hard-worker who stayed active and exercised his whole life. His passion was horses. He was charming and a loyal friend; he was a good dancer and singer, and enjoyed watching classic movies. Louis will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Carmen; daughter, Lisa Ann Calderon; sons, Bobby and Mark Calderon; step-daughters, Marilyn and Evelyn; grandchildren, Ashton Clay Calderon and Bella Calderon; other grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Stephen, Jeremy, Heather, Melanie, and Mario; and brother, Victor Calderon. The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 pm Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Committal service and burial will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday, July 23 in Sarasota National Cemetery. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
