Lisa Ellen Smith, 53, of Punta Gorda passed away April 16, 2007. She was born November 16, 1953 in Middletown, Ohio to Howard Richard and Lois Jean (Ballard) Smith. Lisa graduated from Fairfield School in Hamilton, Ohio and worked for Miami Valley Industries until 1998. She then moved from Middletown, Ohio to Burnt Store Marina. Lisa was a member of West Elkton United Methodist Church in West Elkton, Ohio and then Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda. Lisa participated in Special Olympics in Ohio, where she won 14 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze metals. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, fishing and riding her bike as often as possible. Lisa will be greatly missed by her parents Richard and Lois; brothers Daniel (Tina) Smith, Scott (Michele) Smith and James Smith all of Middletown, OH; nieces Sara (David) Wilson, Holley Smith and Haley Smith; great-nieces, Samantha Rose and Ellie Wilson; aunts and uncles Donald (Carol) Smith, Robert (Betty) Forward, Herman (Phyllis) Ballard, Robert (Marilyn) Crawford and cousins. She was preceded in death by her nephew Bryan Smith and grandparents, Clark (Stella) Ballard, Charles (Esther) Smith; aunt and uncle Winford (Lorene) Perkins, Edward Ballard, Opal Ballard, Thelma Ballard. A celebration of Lisa’s life will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2007 at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda with Rev. Tim Stewart officiating.
