Linda A. Rivers

Linda A. Rivers, 66, of Port Charlotte, FL returned home Monday, August 10, 2020, where she reunited with her late husband William E. Rivers, SR. She was born on July 3, 1954, to Roger and Dolores Shurtleff in Middleborough, MA.  Linda moved to Port Charlotte in the summer of 2003 from Raynham, MA.

Linda was a devoted registered nurse for many years.  She was an active member at the First Alliance Church of Port Charlotte and the Women’s Ministries of First Alliance. Linda loved her congregation as much as her family and devoted much of herself to the Church.  Linda was also a Former Disabled American Veterans member.  She enjoyed teaching, learning family history, and working on arts and crafts. Linda will be remembered for her kindness and loving devotion to others and her family as well as her love of Christmas time and Cardinals.

Linda will be deeply missed by her sons Jason William Rivers, William E. Rivers, Jr., and Jayme Cooper; brothers Roger Jr., Stephen and Jay Shurleff; sisters Karen Anthony, Susan Shurtleff, and Patti Healy; grandchildren Haley and Cody Rivers, and Alex and Derek Cooper.

A memorial service will be held at First Alliance of Port Charlotte, FL, and burial at Sarasota National Cemetery will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to OCRA, the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
