Ken Sanders

Henry K. "Ken" Sanders, 78, of Punta Gorda passed away August 15, 2010. He was the son of Henry K. Sanders, Sr and Lilly (Trail) Sanders, born July 22, 1932 in Claremore, OK. Ken was a graduate of Oklahoma Military Academy. He retired in 1988 after 35 years of service with Bechtel; he moved to Punta Gorda in 1989 from Ocala and worked for 22 years at Wal Mart. Ken loved the L.A. Angels, golf and football; he enjoyed traveling, games and puzzles, and animals. He was a member of the Punta Gorda Historical Society, Elks, and the St. Joseph Indian School. Ken will be greatly missed by his daughter, Karla (Kevin); son, Rick (Kay); grandchildren, Rick and MaryJane; and great grandchildren, Dylan, Jaymi, and Kymber. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Kay. The service in celebration of Ken's life will be 1:00-3:00 pm Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the Punta Gorda Woman's Club.
