Kathryn P. Gabriel

Kathryn Gabriel, 89, died peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2020, in Port Charlotte, FL.  She was born with her twin brother on May 31, 1930, in Chicago.  She was one of six children of Maurice and Margaret Shunick.  She was educated in Catholic grammar and high schools in the Chicago area.  Kathryn married the love of her life, Albert Gabriel, Jr. in September 1950.

She worked for many years in the insurance industry.  After retirement, she and Al moved to Punta Gorda, Florida, where they enjoyed many years with friends and family in their much-loved Florida home.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, her parents, two sisters, Margaret and Eileen, and three brothers, William, Robert and her twin, Edward.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews who cherish the memory of her generous and sunny spirit.

She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will be beside her husband in Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda.  A Memorial Mass will be scheduled for a future date.
