Karen K. Meyer

Karen K. Meyer, 60, of North Port passed away November 6, 2009. She was the daughter of Leroy and June (Bayer) Bruns, born July 9, 1949 in Fort Wayne, IN. Karen was a 4th Grade school teacher for Manchester (IN) Community Schools before retiring. She came to North Port from North Manchester, IN in 2001 and worked for children's Medical Services in Sarasota. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Punta Gorda. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren. Karen will be greatly missed by her husband of 39 years, Steve; daughter, Shawna (Michael) Eikenberry of Indianapolis, IN; son, Douglas Meyer of Indialapolis, IN; grandchildren, Amanda, Audrey, and Claire; breothers, Dennis (Donna) Bruns of Conifer, CO, Tim (Peggy) Bruns and Kirk Bruns, both of Port Charlotte; and sister, Julie (Jim) Stafford of Phoenix, AZ. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church on Thursday, November 12, 2009 with the service in celebration of her life following at 11:00 am.
