June Barrett

June Barrett, 85, of Port Charlotte passed away January 4, 2011. She was born November 23, 1925 in Wallins Creek, KY. June was a registered nurse and served 20 years as an officer with the US Public Health Service before retiring. She came to this area from Silver Spring, MD in 2003. June was a member of the Military Officers Assoc., Planned Parenthood and Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG); and was a member of Unitarian Universalist Fellowships wherever she lived. June will be greatly missed by her daughter, MaryHolly (Benjamin Crosby) Allison of Punta Gorda; and brothers, Raymond E. (Noreen) Griffith of Muskegon, MI and Jerry L.(Anne) Griffith of LaPlata, MD. A son, Arthur M. Allison III, preceded her in death. The service in celebration of June's life will be at Noon Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
