Julia C. Kowal, 78, of Punta Gorda and Pine Island, New York passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. She was the daughter of Russell and Lucy (Brigham) Creeden, born July 15, 1931 in Goshen, New York. Julia graduated from Hooker High School, Goshen, NY. Julia worked alongside her husband on their onion farm in New York and was a world traveler during summers and winters, before retiring. As a member of Pulaski Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary she was involved in numerous community activities including the Polish Night Dinner Dances. She enjoyed singing in the St. Stanislaus Church Choir and performing with the Little Bit of Poland Choir for Veteran's hospitals and nursing homes. Julia handmade baby hats and blankets and donated them to local hospitals for newborns. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 58 years, Walter; brother, Eugene; sister, Lucy; children, Linda Madura and her daughters, Elizabeth and Jacqueline; Walter Jr. (Dean) Kowal and their daughters, Bree and Creeden; Russell (Debra) and Julia (Derek) Pickles. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Margaret Creeden, brothers, Russell, Donald, Ernest, and Robert; grandson, Ronald, Jr. A memorial mass will be at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda.
