Jon Rusch, 66, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice House, Port Charlotte, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 25, 1949 in Jordan, NY to Alfred and Ellen Rusch. Jon moved to Florida in the late 70's and worked then as a cabinet maker. He was a humble man with skill and expertise in many areas such as painting, assembling and enhancing model cars, golf course maintenance and irrigation and had knowledge of many things; he retired in 2011. Jon was most happy working on his 1980 Chevy El Camino that he painted and reupholstered several times just for the fun of it. He enjoyed pro football, golf, NASCAR, and watching any and every TV show about rebuilding classic cars. Jon is survived by his loving wife, Sue Rusch, who he met in 1988 and married on May 22, 1993, his two Yorkie sons, Colbee and Raylan; his mother, Ellen Rusch and step-father, Marty Pursati; sisters, Linda (Dave) Bullard, Joann (Larry) Dunn all of Clyde, NY, Randi (Tom) Goffe of Punta Gorda, Barbara (Dan) Smith of West Palm Beach, Marlene (Richard) Visiko of Niagara Falls, NY and Nikki Rusch of Austin, TX and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred and his step-mother, Gayle, sister, Betty George and brother, Alfred "Skip" Rusch. There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date.
