John W. Newman

John W. Newman, 40, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on the 4th of July, 2020. He was born on Veterans Day, November 11, 1979, in Hayfork, CA. to John and Diane Newman.

John moved to Punta Gorda from California in 1980. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Masters in Civil Engineering and great pride in being a member of the Gator family.  John was a devoted baseball fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and enjoyed every moment of the season.  He loved fishing, especially for Tarpon, and spending time on the waters of Florida.  Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, who now find peace knowing he was a believer in the Lord and is in a better place.

John will be deeply missed by his mother Diane Martin; father John K. (Virginia) Newman; son Rylan; brothers Beni and Nick Newman; his Nana and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
