John Stephen Polito "The Wing King" of Port Charlotte passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the young age of 61, due to complications of a stroke. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was an electrician for 33 years, and was known as one of the best in Charlotte County. John was a simple man who enjoyed "living on the porch," cooking chicken wings and watching NASCAR; he was an avid Earnhardt fan. He could have well been a meteorologist because he was just as passionate about the weather as he was racing. John will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Evelyn "Evie;" son, Jason (Christy); daughters, Heather, Kelli, and Kristy; precious grandsons whom he loved more than life, Jason, Jr., Brandon, and Aaron; father, Frank Polito; brother, Robert (Margaret) Polito; sister, Carolann (Quint) Napoleon; niece, Michelle (Chris) Samios; nephew, Adam Napoleon; and beloved dog, Chase. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Polito, and mother, Harriet Polito. The service in celebration of John's life will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victory Junction, 4500 Adam's Way, Randleman, NC 27317 or visit wwww.victoryjunction.org/donate.
