John "Jack" Monahan

John "Jack" Monahan, 83, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Cliffside Park, NJ passed away October 19, 2017. He was born September 2, 1934 in North Bergen, N.J. to William and Elizabeth Monahan. Jack served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, PGI Civic Association. Jack was the owner/president of Claimco Inc. Jack will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Patricia; sons, John Kevin (Leslie), Michael J. (Amy); daughter, Susan E. Monahan; grandsons, Connor and Max; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William and Peter. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda. Burial will be at 11 am, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Sarasota National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Veterans Program of your choice, St. Vincent De Paul or Tidewell Hospice, Inc.
