John J. Brownlee

John J. Brownlee, 72, of Bradenton, FL passed away December 29, 2015. He was the son of William and Monica Brownlee, born July 6, 1943 in Chicago, IL. John graduated from Manatee High School, Class of 1961. He earned his bachelor's at USF, where he was a charter member of Cratos, which became Sigma Nu fraternity. John was a Russian linguist in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He was owner of The Golf Shop in Bradenton and an avid golfer, playing for many years in local amateur tournaments. He enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a proud father and grandfather. John will be greatly missed by his children, Michelle, Jason and Morgan; grandchildren, Kelanii, Hope and Alivia; and wife, Linda. A private service will be held.
