John D. Markle

John David Markle, 54, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away March 31, 2016. He was born May 21, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, to David and Judy Markle. John graduated from St. Johns High School in 1979, and considered himself a proud Catholic School Survivor. John moved to Port Charlotte in 1985 and worked in the air conditioning business for many years. He met Ricki on a blind date in Feb 1988, and they have been together ever since. John worked in the home construction business with his long-time friends Tom Provenal at Southwest Restoration, and Mike Meagher at Diplomat Homes. In 2007, he started his career in the road construction business, and was very proud to be an Ajax Paving Project Superintendent since 2011. He was a member of the Port Charlotte Moose Lodge 2121 and the Sons of the American Legion, Post 110 Port Charlotte. John was a volunteer for the Florida International Air Show for the past 13 years and was looking forward to the comeback Show this October. John was a Port Charlotte Little League t-ball, baseball and softball coach for 10 years. He was the founding President for The Miss Charlotte Softball League and a proud coach of the Breakers Girls Softball Travel Team for 9 years. He will be greatly missed by his parents, David (Sue) Markle, Judy Markle (Paul) Camp; brothers, Jamie Markle and Tim (Tracy) Markle; favorite sister, Kristen Markle (Kevin) Keyser; daughters, Kasey Cooper, Mollie Markle (Joshua) Grunert and Victoria Markle; favorite son Ted (Stacey) Rossman; beloved grandsons, Kaleb Gardner and Kaiden Gardner; his princess Madilyn Markle; new Itty Bitty Gracelyn Mae Grunert just two weeks old. The family will receive friends beginning at 11am, Saturday, April 9, 2016 with the Celebration of Life beginning at noon at New Day Christian Church, 20212 Peachland Blvd, Port Charlotte.
