Joanne Sikula, 71, of Port Charlotte, formerly of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away on May 10, 2018. She was the daughter of John and Gladys Garbas, born September 30, 1946 in Jolliet, IL. She graduated from Knox H.S. in Knox, Indiana and was married to Vernon Center in 1971. They lived in Walkerton, Indiana and together they had two sons. Joanne worked at P N H Foundry for 20 years before retiring in 1991. She met Robert Sikula and they lived in Vero Beach, Florida after they married, before moving to Port Charlotte. They had a cherished Pomeranian, Trace, who remained a true companion for Joanne. Joanne will be remembered as a gentle lady who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and playing computer games. Joanne will be greatly missed by her sons, Jeff (friend, Alan Bourne) Center and John Center; sister-in-law, Randy Ann (Pete) Bechtel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon, and husband of 4 years, Robert D. Sikula, Jr.; sister, Janice LaBere; brothers, John and Denice. The service in celebration of Joannes life will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services in Punta Gorda.
