Joan M. Gilbert

Joan M. Gilbert, 61, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on March 27, 2020. She was born on September 17, 1958, to Flounoy and Joan I. Gilbert in Ft. Myers, FL.  Joan moved to Punta Gorda in 1971 and worked as a Phlebotomist before staying at home with her family. 

Being of the Pentecostal faith, Joan found great solace in reading her bible every day. Throughout her life she enjoyed singing, dancing and particularly writing.  Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her sister on their weekly outings.  She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.   

Joan is survived by her mother Joan I. Gilbert; daughters Jennifer (John) Crouch and Jerica (Chris) Zullo; son John (Haley) Durrance; brother Buddy Gilbert; sisters Selina (Billy) Kuykendall and Veronica (Rick) Williams; and her 10 grandchildren Timothy, Tyler, Peyton, Cayleigh, Michaela, Christopher, Penelope, Layne, Gunner and Avery.  She was preceded in death by her father Flounoy.
