Jane G. Schroder

Jane Schroder, 99, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Binghamton, NY passed away November 26, 2016. Born July 23, 1917 in Johnson City, NY to Dr. Edward Raymond and Lillian Gillespie. Jane graduated from Miss Finch Finishing School in NYC and Miss Halls School, Pittsfield, MA. She was an active member of Trinity Memorial Church Altar Guild. Volunteered for Lourdes Hospital Auxiliary, Girl Scouts of America, Girls Club, Fresh Air Kids, Rotary Exchange Student Program, Monday Afternoon Historical Club, Civic Association, Roberson Memorial Docent, National Republican Committee Woman, Garden Club, Punta Gorda Historical Society, Watrous Bowl recipient of Junior League. She knitted multitudes of hats for service men and women, children's organizations and friends. Jane will be loved and remembered by her daughter, Sally Walsh; nieces and nephews, and many special friends. A memorial service will be held this summer in Binghamton, NY. Memorial donations may be made to Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary, 41660 Horseshoe Rd, Punta Gorda, FL 33982. Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral Home.
