James R. "Jim" Young, 82, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014. He was born October 6, 1932 in Huntington, WV to George and Loreen Young. Jim was known as Jimmy, Jim, Dad, Granddaddy, Uncle Jim and was a father figure to many. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was a retired Engineer from the Dept. of Defense/Air Force. He was a member of Int'l Sister Cities and Edgewater United Methodist Church. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, Luanna; daughters, Elizabeth Beckham of Pt. Charlotte and LouAnne Young of Vandalia, OH; sister, Deloris Young of Jacksonville, FL; grandsons, Brannon King of Vandalia, OH and Baily Beckham of Pt. Charlotte, FL. A service to celebrate Jim's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
