James F. Meyers

James F. Meyers, 83, of Punta Gorda passed away June 9, 2006. He was born November 3, 1922 in Waterbury, CT to James J. and Aimee (Trowbridge) Meyers. Jim graduated from Crosby High School in 1940 and served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He married Althea Conley in 1947 and from this union two sons were born. Jim worked as a toolmaker for Scovill Mfg. Co. of Waterbury for 35 years. In 1986, he and his wife moved to Punta Gorda from New Hartford, CT.

Jim will be greatly missed by his son, James “Terry” (Rosanne) Meyers of Middlebury, CT; grandsons, Scott A. (Mary) Meyers of Wolcott, CT and Patrick J. (Jean) Meyers of Tiverton, RI; great-grandsons, Riley Meyers of Wolcott, CT and Ethan Meyers of Tiverton, RI; and his mother-in-law, Thelma Keys. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Althea; and a son, Lawrence.
