Jacqueline “Jackie” Jones, 64, of Punta Gorda passed away April 14, 2006. She was born January 1, 1942 in Shelby, N.C. to Edward and Edna (Blanton) Smith. Jackie moved to Punta Gorda from Shelby, NC in 1970. She worked as a Community Manager for the Gardens of Gulf Cove Property Owners Association. Jackie enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Pat (Rick Gilliam) Oates of Turtle Town, TN, Annette (Rick) Collier of Shelby, NC and Donna Martin of Deer Park, WA; sons Steve (Karen) Holland, Jr of Pt. Charlotte, FL; brother Larry (Andrea), Joe Smith of both Bradenton, and Robert Smith of Ocala; sisters Darlene (Terry) Rains of Pt. Charlotte and Diane (Don) Simpson of Chester, SC; many nieces and nephews; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jackie was preceded in death by her father Edward Smith; mother and step-father Robert and Edna Philbeck. A memorial service in celebration of Jackie’s life will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 18 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial donations maybe made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 or American Cancer Society 922 Tamiami Trail Unit C-2, Pt. Charlotte, FL 33953.
