Jack J. Gomes

Jack J. Gomes, 45, of Punta Gorda passed away March 21, 2006. He was born February 25, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA to Margorie and William Gomes. Jack was a Charlotte High School Alumnus, and a member of Burnt Store Presbyterian Church. He was a life long Florida resident with a family history exceeding 250 years in Southwest Florida; he was extremely proud of his Carribean Pirate Ancestry. Jack enjoyed playing his guitar, going fishing, making people laugh, and cherished the love of his family. He loved being a father more than anything else. There has never been a man more loved, in spite of all of his human faults. Jack will be greatly missed by his mother Marjie Krasnodemski; daughters Brittany, Kristina, Karli and Samantha Gomes; son Jack Gomes, Jr; brothers Robert (Tamra) Gomes and William (Lily) Gomes, Jr.; uncle Paul (Bea) Gomes; aunt Pat Drake; granddaughter Baily, and a second granddaughter expected in August; nieces Ashley, Justine, Megan and Lauren; nephews William, Robert and Richard; and a large number of relatives, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, William Gomes, and uncle James Drake. The family will receive friends at 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, March 24 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A celebration of Jack’s life will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 25 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Punta Gorda. Burial will be in Indian Springs Cemetery after the service.
