Helmut Henrich Schmelmer

Helmut Henrich Schmelmer, 78, of Punta Gorda passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011. He was the son of Henrich and Gunda (Batz) Schmelmer, born on March 15, 1933 in Germany. Helmut was a former Typesetter in Germany and former restaurant & deli owner in New York. He moved to this area from Putnam Valley, NY in 2003. Helmut enjoyed cooking for his family and was a member of the German American Club, Putnam Valley, NY. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Anneliese; son, Robert (Debbie) Schmelmer of Putnam Valley, NY; daughter, Monika (James) Tempestilli of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Melissa, Brandon, Anneliese and Arianna. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 am, Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with a celebration service to follow at 11:00 am with Rev.
