Helen Szmereta

Helen Szmereta, 77, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012. She was the daughter of Michael and Anna (Fesak) Bilecki, born on April 24, 1935 in South Plainfield, New Jersey. She moved from Huntington Beach, California to Punta Gorda in 1995 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a loving person with a big heart. Helen will be greatly missed by her husband of 58 years, Bernard; daughter Joanne Szmereta of Gurnee, Illinois and grandchildren, Ella and Noah. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard. The family will receive family and friends 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Sarasota National VA Cemetery.
