Helen J. Mcdaniel

Helen Josephine McDaniel of Punta Gorda FL passed away to eternal life on September 29, 2014. Helen was born in Ottawa, Illinois to the late Josephine and John Golbinec. She was a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing and Mary Manse College in Toledo, Ohio. As a Registered Nurse her career expanded 40 years beginning at the VA Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, and later at hospitals in Toledo, Ohio and Rhode Island. She ended her nursing career with the Veteran's Administration for the State of Rhode Island. On June, 27, 1953, Helen married Wyatt E. McDaniel of Dayton, Ohio. After retiring in 1989, Helen moved from Rhode Island to Punta Gorda Isles. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and traveling the world with her husband. Throughout Helen's life, she was an active member of the Catholic Church. She was member of the Ladies Guild at Sacred Heart and volunteered at Saint Vincent de Paul. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 61 years, Wyatt. Daughters; Mara (John) Wolski; Jana Stahl; Sarah (Marcel) Sander; son, Evan (Carolyn); grandchildren, Drew and Alex Wolski; Chase, Victoria and Luke Stahl; Joshua and Jacob Sander; and Ella McDaniel. Visitations will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 4 to 7pm at Larry Taylor Funeral with a funeral mass on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
