Helen Priest Deck, 88, of Port Charlotte passed away November 23, 2006 at Harbour Health Systems Nursing Home. She was born November 7, 1918 in Boston, Massachusetts to Irving A and Virginia (Hicks) Priest. Helen lived her early years in Sudbury a then-rural suburb of Boston. She was educated at Northfield School for Girls and the Cambridge Graduate School. Helen worked with the American Red Cross in India during WWII, then she worked for the education administration at Harvard University before joining the CIA in 1951, which she traveled to Washington, DC, Europe, the Near East and Latin America. She retired in 1973 and returned to Sudbury and in 1988 relocated to Punta Gorda Isles. Helen was a life member and former Board member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, Central Intelligence Retirees Association, St. Andrews South Golf Club and the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She will be greatly missed by her brother Irving A. (Thelma) Priest, Jr. of Punta Gorda and Hancock, NH; sisters Doris E. King of Port Charlotte and Rachel P. (Kevin) Kilgore of Monson, MA; a niece and three nephews. A inurnment will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd at a later date.
