Harry M. Matthews, 79, of Punta Gorda passed away January 9, 2010. He was the son of Harry A and Edna (Webster) Matthews, born May 27, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA. Harry served on the USS Runner for the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a partner of Lineau Associates, manufacturer representative for consumer electronics, before retiring. He was a member of Twin Isles CC, and a proud member of the Romeo's (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Harry's interests included boating, golf, reading, and he was an avid political commentator. Interest in gaming led him to author his first book, "The Quick Learn Method for Winning at Multiple Deck Blackjack." Harry will be greatly missed by his wife, Kay; son, Harry M. (Gisele) Matthews, Jr.; granddaughters, Danielle, Kathleen, and Sandra Matthews; step-daughter, Pamela (Fred) Wetherill Wright; step-grandchildren, Blayne (Jamie) Wright and Stephanie (Jeff McOrmond) Wright; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Deborah Ann Mazza. The family will receive friends 11:00 - Noon, Wednesday, January 13, 2009 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with the service in celebration of Harry's life beginning at Noon.
