Harry Howard Joyce, loving husband of S. Lillian Joyce, and father of Douglas H. and David L. Joyce, passed into the arms of the Lord on May 24, 2014. One of five children born to Leon and Minnie Joyce, Harry was a star athlete in high school and an adventurous young man who joined the United States Navy during WWII and served honorably in the South Pacific theatre of war. A graduate of Miami University of Ohio, Harry went on to a distinguished career with the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company, as director of Medical Science Liaison international, and proud recipient of the Dr. William E. Upjohn Award. Harry was a spiritual man, raised Methodist, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church while wintering in Punta Gorda, Florida. Harry was a man of character. A strong willed proud American who put family first, enjoyed people, and was always quick with a compliment, a conversation, and a helping hand. Harry will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Lillian; his sons, Douglas and David; his grandchildren, Leland, Maddie, Elyse, Douglas, Jr., Christopher, and Bethany; and his brother, Ronald. His beloved identical twin, Albert, preceded Harry in death by three months. A service in celebration of the life of Harry Howard Joyce will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday June 6, 2014 at 11am. Donations to the Sacred Heart Catholic Faith Appeal are preferred in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be left in the online guest book. Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
